To celebrate National Poetry Day 2026, join Dr Jocelyn Page and Dr Emily Corbett from Goldsmiths, University of London, as they explore how poetry allows adults and young readers to see, question and experience the world in new ways.

During this session, Dr Page and Dr Corbett will explore:

• What makes poetry a distinctive literary form
• How children’s poetry invites us to see through younger eyes
• The ways poets use voice, rhythm, imagery and perspective
• How poetry can reveal the extraordinary within the everyday

The webinar will also feature a poetry reading, followed by an open discussion and audience Q&A about creating a sense of wonder through language. Whether you write poetry, teach or study literature, share poems with young readers, or simply enjoy discovering what words can do, this session offers space to pause, look again and experience the world a little differently.
