Join legendary poet, Kwame Dawes, in an online workshop on ekphrasis! After a discussion about the ways in which ekphrasis (the description of a work of visual art) has worked in some meaningful poetry, the group will attempt their own ekphrasis poems making use of artbooks available online. We will share poems and think about the value of ekphrasis in pushing our poetics in new directions. Come with an open mind, a laptop and/or a notebook, and be prepared to generate new work as we enjoy and steal from great art.
