Scowth is a regular poetry event - usually on the last Sunday of every second month.
As always this is a free event and there will be loads of fabulous open mic'ers to see too. Food and drinks are available to buy at the bar and the venue is totally accessible, as well as being on main bus and train routes.

There will be two featured poets: Gordon Christopher Powrie and Wendy Miller performing!
Wendy Miller is a poet, playwright and lecturer, Wendy Miller is a queer artist who is fascinated by language, music, connection and intersections.
Alongside partner-in-rhyme Lorna Callery-Sithole, Wendy runs monthly performance night, Versaye in Bossa, South Side.
Wendy’s work has been published by Gutter and New Writing Scotland. Her most recent collection, I am Fire, is available from Category is Books. She is working on a new collection due out next summer.
She graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 2020, with a Masters In Playwriting. Her plays include queer feminist sci-fi epic, Herta and most recently the short plays, The Converts and Losterity, performed at Drama At The Depot in Leith, 2024.
Wendy lives in Govanhill with partner Gillian, their son Edwyn and Rio the Spaniel.
Gordon Christopher Powrie is a slam poet and spoken word performer from Paisley, Scotland and winner of the Scottish National Poetry Slam Championships 2024. He has reached the final of the Scottish Poetry Slam Championship in seven consecutive years, reaching the final podium on three occasions.
Gordon performs at a wide range of venues in Paisley, Glasgow and across Scotland including Nights at the Round Table, Last Monday, Milk, VerseAye, Poetry@InnDeep, Candlelight, Express Yourself, Glasgow Literary Lounge, The Poetry Experiment and Loud Poets.
Gordon is also a founding member of the Clusterfuck Circus performance collective who have been active since 2016 producing an anarchic mix of music, comedy and poetry under the leadership of founder and Ringmaster, Oliver Pissed.
Aside from Poetry, Gordon is a husband and father and works as a teacher for children with additional learning needs. He holds a masters degree in Education and also represented Scotland in the sport of Rugby League on 12 occasions.
