On Screen: ESEA Heritage Month Screening and Poetry Writing Workshop
Glasgow Zine Library 32-34 Albert Road, Glasgow
This event has been organised by Peilin Shi. Book tickets for the screening on Saturday 20th September here.
On Screen: Women, Identity, and Cultural Heritage, showcasing works from ESEA artists and cultural practitioners
How do we remember intergenerational care through film and story? During this year’s ESEA Heritage Month 2025: Reframing Resilience, we invite you to a responsive experience, exploring voices and stories of East and Southeast Asian women. We’ll screen two to three carefully curated short films exploring migration, memory, identity, love, and care, and invite creative responses both collectively and personally.
Expect snacks, casual conversations, and moments of connection. After each screening, there will be a gentle space to reflect, write, draw, share, or simply sit with what you’ve seen.
A Love Letter to Dear Her: Screening & Poetry Writing
Alongside each screening, we’ll host a loosely guided poetry session, integrating collage, song sharing, and zine-making, with the potential to produce a collaborative zine to be shared later, or create your own to take home. All materials are provided, prompts are optional, and you’re welcome to bring your own supplies.
All are welcome: We warmly encourage you to bring any languages and mother tongues, and to engage in whichever form of expression feels right for you.
Programme for both days:
6:30-6:45 Doors open
6:45-7:45 Screening and Sessions
7:45-8:00 Breaks
8:00-9:00 Screening and Sessions
