Glasgow’s Great Big Poetry Party
Centre for Contemporary Arts (CCA) 350 Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow
St Mungo's Mirrorball is celebrating its 20th birthday!
it is 20 years since St Mungo’s Mirrorball ran its first event and there are a few of us around that still remember that stunning and moving reading from Mark Doty.
To celebrate our very special birthday we are having a huge poetry party and inviting those involved in poetry events and networks across the city to come together. A real positive statement of community
with Glasgow’s biggest ever poetry party.
A wonderful chance to network and the third eye bar will be open from late afternoon.
The event will incorporate the launch of Julie Laing’s prize winning chapbook, then for the rest of the night will consist of a huge poetry open mic raffle with 100 poets.
It is a free event but is based on guest list so everyone has to book by emailing stmungosmirrorball@gmail.com. You will not be able to turn up on the night. Once the places are taken that is it and we are over halfway full already. And we are hoping to have some surprises during the evening.
I really look forward to catching up with you all on this very special night…. and everyone bring a poem!
