A Chorus of Poems: Creating a Collection with Victoria Adukwei Bulley
online
What makes a collection feel cohesive, even when its individual poems vary in style or subject? In this online workshop, we’ll experiment with ways of drawing connections across a body of work, discovering the patterns and echoes that can shape a manuscript, whether you’re crafting a pamphlet or a full-length collection. Together, we’ll think about how poems can speak both as solos and as part of a chorus, and how form, theme, and imagery can interact to build a wider structure. Alongside writing exercises, we’ll take inspiration from contemporary poets to imagine fresh approaches to ordering and arranging your poems.
Victoria Adukwei Bulley is a poet, writer and artist. She is the winner of an Eric Gregory Award, and her critically acclaimed poetry debut, QUIET, won the Folio Prize for Poetry, the John Pollard Poetry Prize, and was shortlisted for the T. S. Eliot Prize. QUIET is published by Faber & Faber in the UK and in North America by Knopf.
