Finding Meaning: Found Poems & Metaphors with Jennifer Wong
online
Tsaá with Roma presents Finding Meaning: Found Poems and Metaphors with poet Jennifer Wong.
This online workshop will explore ideas, emotions, and associations contained, carried, and transformed within found poems and metaphors. This session will explore and reinterpret images, fragmented texts, and how these elements impose constraint and/or offer freedom towards creation of new bodies of work.
Whether working with a found poem or a metaphor, we begin with what we have and often arrive somewhere unexpected.
In this session, we’ll explore a rich variety of examples, and participants will be encouraged to step beyond their comfort zones—writing in response to found materials and texts, and discovering surprising creative possibilities along the way.
