Book Launch: Cameron Wilson's Corn
Good Press 32 St Andrew's Street, Glasgow
BOOK LAUNCH: Corn by Cameron Wilson
Please join us for the launch of CORN by Cameron Wilson -- a new pamphlet of experimental poetry pushing translation to its limit. With readings by Robert Thomas James Mills, Meredith Macleod Davidson, Sean Wai Keung & Cameron Wilson.
CORN is an experiment in translation, transcription, and transformation. Wilson has performed mass spectrometry on a single poem - Corn by Bernadette Mayer - refracting its light into 30 different iterations, revealing its elemental makeup. CORN is "a precise dissection of our relationship to nominative identification" (Meredith Macleod Davidson), "a celebration of constraint, [and] an optimistic obsession" (Robert Thomas James Mills). Both accessible and challenging, CORN is "a dedication to translation, migration, language and seed." (Sean Wai Keung).
Cameron Wilson is a Glaswegian poet, artist, librarian, and editor. Cameron's work explores spirit, neurosis, and human phenomena by digging deep into language through experimentation, constraint, and formalism. His previous publication include I Wish Scotland Was Real (Electric Frog 2023), Mull Poems (2023), and Deathmatch (Electric Frog, 2024). He was Cove Park's Young Gaelic Writer Resident in 2025, and is Gutter Magazine's Gaelic editor.
Robert Thomas James Mills is an artist, writer and rambler from Glasgow. Robert's practice often personifies the cosmos as a way to explore aspects of a human experience in relation to the universe. Robert's work starts with seemingly ordinary situations and aims to transport audiences to absurd locations of the universe. Robert likes to use de/re-construction methods on patterns, symbols and ideas to focus on the journey not the destination.
Meredith MacLeod Davidson is a Glasgow-based poet and writer, originally from Virginia. Meredith's poetry has been published in journals that include The London Magazine, Gutter, Anthropocene, Propel, and Poetry Birmingham Literary Journal. Meredith is the co-founder of crisp packet poetry, and co-curates Glasgow's Discount Guillotine reading series. Transpiration (ignitionpress, 2025) is Meredith’s debut poetry pamphlet.
Sean Wai Keung is a poet and performance maker. His work often uses food and language as tools to explore concepts including identity, community, migration and grief. His collection sikfan glaschu was published by Verve Poetry Press in 2021 and his award-winning spoken word and cookery show A History of Fortune Cookies was performed at Summerhall during August 2024.
