PEELERS by Crisp Packet Poetry

PEELERS will be a seasonal event (4 times in the year) hosted in the upstairs of mcneill’s bar on torrisdale street in the southside of glasgow.

for each PEELERS event, we will host a line-up of approximately 4-5 performances of 15-30 minutes each.

the aim of PEELERS is to provide a low-stakes and supportive space and audience to encourage the development of long-form poetry readings or experimental or hybrid performance utilising text and language as a significant element.

we think of PEELERS as a rough-draft,
poetic performance scratch night.
take all your most outlandish poetry ideas and bring them for a test-drive...see how they work in front of a crowd!

PEELERS is a night where you can peel back the layers of your creativity, feel for the starch-y, savory eye at the centre of your practice, and experiment with the relationship between poetry and perhaps...dance, music, theatre, storytelling, card tricks, clowning, software programming, yoga, food, meditation - anything you might want to try, we’re up for it!

we welcome pitches from prospective performers for upcoming PEELERS poetic performance scratch nights

performance proposals can be works-in-progress or an idea still in developmental stages. we are not necessarily looking for finished projects
(though we welcome those as well!)
