RRS: Writing Hospitable Spaces with Sean Wai Keung
5.30pm – 7pm Tuesday March 2026
Reid Lecture Theatre
Free but ticketed – Book via Eventbrite
Consider the making and re-making of hospitable spaces in this interdisciplinary workshop, led by poet and performance maker Sean Wai Keung. Navigating notions of migration and place, join us in exploring how we feel welcome and how we welcome others. Together, we will write, read, and ‘serve’ one another, unpacking hospitality and the repeated gestures which define it.
Sean Wai Keung is a poet and performance maker based in Glasgow. His work is often interested in food, migration, identity and community. His debut poetry collection sikfan glaschu was published by Verve Poetry Press in 2021, and he has made community zines with Being Mixed, the Woodlands Anti-Racist Community Library and more. His performance work includes spoken word and cookery shows with the National Theatre of Scotland, Tramway Glasgow and BUZZCUT Festival.
This event is part of the Race, Rights & Sovereignty ‘States of Matter’ strand. ‘States of Matter’ is a programme strand which considers interactions between art and statehood, asking how practitioners shift our present states of living. Race, Rights and Sovereignty is a programme supported by the GSA Students Association in partnership with GSA Exhibitions.
