The Community Resource for All Things Poetry
Founded in 2005, Linen Press is the only UK-wide feminist independent publisher. At a time when female autonomy and rights are under threat, our books are important for the recognition and empowerment of the female experience. We rejoice in the strength and originality of female and non-binary creative voices and champion those who are underrepresented and marginalised. The collective background of our writers is a patchwork of cultures, countries, ages and writing styles as we share stories that speak to women across barriers and boundaries.
Linen Press is creating a new anthology of poetry and short-form prose under the title ‘Don’t Look Now’.
The idea of ‘Don’t Look Now’ is to publish a book of poems and short-form prose that records the many ways in which women, and maybe men too, respond to being witnesses to the darkest deeds. I ask you to write about small acts of kindness to ourselves, to each other, to those who suffer, to the displaced, to the bereaved. And to our planet. Record your rage and anger, show me your placards and shout about your marching. Tell me how you went out in the rain and planted a tree.
The deadline was now extended to 23 March!
