Unprecedented Negligence: Creative Responses to the Bhopal Disaster
online
Join us for a powerful online poetry workshop exploring creative responses to the Bhopal disaster and its ongoing legacy
Through poetry, wordplay and guided writing exercises, we'll raise awareness of the world's worst industrial disaster and support ongoing calls for justice and reparations for those still living with its consequences.
Facilitated by poet, writer and celebrant Hazel Stewart and hosted by the Bhopal Medical Appeal, this two-hour online workshop will use a variety of writing prompts to encourage reflection, creativity and connection. Participants will have the opportunity to create their own responses and contribute to a collective poem, with optional sharing throughout the workshop.
We are delighted to welcome guest poet Avaes Mohammad, who will read his powerful poem, Bhopal.
Whether you’re an experienced writer or completely new to poetry, bring your writing materials and join us to explore creativity and wordplay to imagine more hopeful futures for those living with the disaster's long and toxic shadow.
Tickets are free but donations to the Bhopal Medical Appeal are welcome.
