This is a free, hour-long poetry performance workshop for 14-25 year olds, followed by an hour-long Young Poets Takeover open mic over Zoom.

Performance workshop: 5:00-6:00pm

In this workshop, you’ll be guided through some performance tips and tricks from Young Identity‘s Shirley May. Absolutely anyone aged 14-25 is welcome to join, regardless of how much experience they might have with poetry.

This workshop will not be recorded. Email queries to educationadmin@poetrysociety.org.uk.

Young Poets Takeover: 6:00-7:00pm

Open mic slots are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.  Again, anyone aged 14-25 is welcome to join, regardless of how much experience they might have with poetry.

After a short break, you will be invited to watch a showcase of performances from Young Identity’s members and share your own work on the open mic for up to two minutes. We are celebrating young voices – so if you want to hear from the up-and-coming stars of the poetry world, come along!
