Blending hard-hitting, vulnerable poetry with wit and humour, myndstate's new show takes you on a journey of hope and survival through his debut collection, deep breath. Exploring themes of sexuality, identity, love, and shame, it beautifully narrates the struggles of finding yourself, and your place, in a world that often doesn’t want you to belong. Having spent so much of his life holding his breath, hiding who he is, myndstate's latest performance has him fully exhaling - and you can’t help but do it too.

myndstate’s debut collection is a vulnerable story of survival; an insight into the struggles of finding yourself, and your place, in a world that often doesn’t want you to belong. exploring themes of sexuality, identity, love, and shame, deep breath follows his journey from growing up closeted and searching for acceptance to navigating the twists and turns of life as an openly gay man - reflecting on where he is today, how far he’s come, and how much further the world has to go.

myndstate will be performing in Glasgow for two nights on Monday and Tuesday, 16+17 November 2026.
