PERVERSE publishes poems by weekly digital newsletter which are “deliberate, obstinate, unreasonable or unacceptable, contrary to the expected practice”.

PERVERSE is now open for submissions again, just for the month of June.

The editor will read them all in July, and reply to everyone in August. Issue 10 will be published in the Autumn.

GUIDELINES:

Send up to 3 unpublished poems.  

Submissions are open until midnight BST on 30th June 2025. 

Submissions will be read in July, and you'll be replied to by email by the end of August. (This issue will be released this autumn.)

Visual poems are welcome. Translations are welcome, as long as you have the translated poet's permission (or their work is out of copyright). No AI (I see this magazine dedicated to poetry made using AI processes is going strong here: https://ailiteraryreview.co.uk/). 

Regretfully, there is no payment available, and rejections are unlikely to be personalised due to constraints of time, apologies. 

I'm also not super keen on simultaneous submissions, because I curate each group of poems into sets of five, so a withdrawn poem does leave a big hole. 

All that said - please send me your poems! I look forward to reading them!

PREPARING YOUR DOCUMENT:

- put your work AND a covering letter into ONE document (either Word Doc or PDF please)
- send a maximum of 3 poems

- make sure your name and email address are on EVERY page
- the covering letter should be addressed to the Editor, Chrissy Williams

- label the document with your FIRST name first (e.g. JENNIFER POET_Perverse.doc)
