Off-Page 26: Visual Poetry Development & Exhibition
off-page is an annual anthology-exhibition which explores the interplay between visual poetry and the poetic visual. Run successfully since 2023 at Many Studios in Glasgow's East end, our programme supports writers and artists to extend their practice and develop new work, through a series of expert-led workshops, for a group show to be held in May 2026. We aim to bring together text, image, sound and sculpture in our non-hierarchical exhibition space, disrupting conventional boundaries (such as the page and the frame) placed around poetic text and visual art.
We are now inviting proposals for our next edition, off-page 26. We’re seeking 10-12 participants to join us on our programme. You’ll have a curiosity about visual poetry, or what you define as the poetic visual, and the possibilities available through working in these domains. You should have an existing practice, but do not need to have been published or exhibited before. You should be based in or around Glasgow, or be able to travel to the city for in-person activities and installation.
What you propose should be new work which can be further developed through collaboration and interaction with our participant group. Completed or previously published/exhibited work will not be eligible.
The programme will be delivered through in-person workshops held in Glasgow, where work-in-progress and curation approaches will be discussed in a supportive and collaborative environment. Participants will also have the opportunity to take part in a live Performance Showcase alongside invited guests from the wider visual poetry community.
We welcome applications from people who self-identify as having one or more protected characteristics as defined by the 2010 Equality Act, and those from backgrounds traditionally under-represented in the arts.
Please note that this is a self-funded initiative. Participants, including the organisers, will contribute what they can to shared costs.
