Plastic Language x Good Press
Between 1 June & 1 August 2026, Plastic Language & Good Press are looking for submissions of explorations in language, sound and music to fill a volume of Plastic Language on NTS Radio, set to broadcast in the early hours of 25 November.
Send us your sound poems, jazz poems, dub poems, poems set to music, text-sound experiments & everything in between by 1 August!
Plastic Language w/ Good Press - Open Call
Plastic Language is an NTS radio show hosted by Will René, exploring spoken word across recorded media, spanning dub, jazz, ASMR, sound poetry & much more. For Plastic Language’s November 2026 show, Glasgow-based workers cooperative Good Press will be joining Will to select pieces to play through this open call.
What we are looking for:
- We welcome a wide variety of works combining sound and language, including but not limited to dub, jazz, ASMR, and sound poetry.
- No straightforward, unaccompanied poems. No straightforward songs (ie, with sung lyrics only).
- Text and sound must be your own. Collaborative works welcome.
- Maximum 4 minutes. Pieces exceeding 4 minutes will not be listened to or broadcast. Excerpts from longer pieces are welcome if they are no longer than 4 minutes.
- Only one piece per person/group please.
- Tracks do not have to be exclusive or unreleased works (although they can be). We also welcome works that have already been released or previously published.
- Previous volumes of Plastic Language should give you an idea of what might be selected, including previous open call episodes with [something’s happening], Tenement Press and FIELDNOTES.
How to share your track with us:
- Fill in the form below by 6pm, 1st August 2026.
- You can email plasticlanguageradio@gmail.com if you have any questions, but we won't be accepting submissions via email.
- The episode will air in the early hours between November 24/25, and will then be archived and available to stream on the NTS website.
- Given the one-hour duration of the show, unfortunately we won't be able to play everything that's shared with us.
We're looking forward to listening to your work!
