The Berlin Review
The Berlin Review is an online literary journal. Launched in early 2023 by a group of writers and artists living in Berlin, our journal has rapidly grown into a thriving platform, capturing the attention of readers, writers, and artists in every corner of the world. We set out with a clear vision: to celebrate the art of writing and to create a space where diverse voices can be heard.
Submission Guidelines
All work must be original, unpublished, and written in English.
If your work is accepted by us for publication, we will contact you to confirm your consent to grant The Berlin Literary Review first serial rights, after which, all rights automatically revert back to you. Should you choose to republish elsewhere, we kindly ask that you acknowledge us as the original publisher.
All submissions are considered for the online magazine.
Please submit your work as a Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) document, double-spaced, using 12-point font.
Simultaneous submissions are accepted, but please withdraw your submission if your work is accepted elsewhere.
We are known for our careful and timely review of all submissions, with response times averaging approximately 3–6 weeks.
We pay a minimum honorarium of €10 per accepted piece. When funding allows, we offer higher payments (up to €30). Payment is determined solely by available funds, not by author profile or reputation.
We proudly nominate standout work for the Pushcart Prize and other respected literary awards.
Please refrain from submitting your work if you are a racist, a homophobe, a sexist, or an asshole.

Please include a brief bio (100 words max).
