HNDL Mag is a US-based online journal dedicated to literature and art. It specifically publishes creatives with neurodivergence, disability, mental and/or chronic illnesses.

Theme: Ghosts, dissociation/derealization/personalization, liminal spaces, the body as a haunted place, unique body horror, a twist on a classic monster. We want unique! Unexpected! Personal! Metaphorical to the disabled experience!

Guidelines/FAQ's

♥ Submit only 1 piece this time- your best poem, story, art piece, etc.

♥ Up to 750 words for prose/reviews

♥ No "Untitled" pieces. Title it or let us know we can title it.

♥ (THIS ONE IS FREQUENTLY OVERLOOKED) No pre-determined graphic design choices like chosen font/font color, written pieces within a graphic design of your own, chosen image to accompany poetry. This is for design palette cohesion reasons.

♥ We accept reprints

♥ No WeTransfer or DropBox, please.

♥No PDFs for written pieces. Google Doc, Word, or pasted into body of email, please. So we can paste into design without losing formatting!

Submissions are accepted via  Google Form, or email hndl.submissions@gmail.com.

We tend to pass on pieces lacking descriptive language, atmosphere, and detail that feels personal.

For this particular issue, we are not looking to publish pieces that go into GRAPHIC DETAIL on themes listed below. We have other publications (For example, HNDL BAR [Bold And Reflective]) that may have current open submissions that are open to these themes:

Once again, including these themes is obviously on-par with horror, but we are not looking for GRAPHIC DETAIL. Other horror publications that include this are awesome, visceral, and fabulous, and we love them, but we are looking to be able to take this publication to markets that may have some restrictions. Thanks for understanding.
