Paloma Magazine: Issue 27
paloma is a quarterly art and literature magazine based on Substack. We aim to create a low-stakes, easy process for writers and artists of all experience levels to share their work.
We will be back with Issue 027 in February 2026.
We are thus officially opening our call for submissions! Submit us your fiction, nonfiction, poetry, or hybrid work on Mirror Images by January 4th. Think (re)presentations of self, video game avatars, generational resemblances, gender expressions, the actor in a biopic, an inseparable duo… Uncanny likeness, yet never quite identical. We’ve missed you and can’t wait to read what you’ve been working on!
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
-
We are open to any format and genre that is suitable for a Substack post (ex: interviews, fiction, essays, reviews, poems, visual art, recipes, collages, videos, music, etc.)
-
Word count: up to 1,000 for non-fiction; up to 3,500 for fiction.
-
Poem limit: please do not submit more than 3 poems at a time.
-
If you wish to submit several pieces belonging to different categories (for example, poetry and fiction), please do so in separate emails.
-
We will not publish previously published work without confirmation that you retain the rights to it. Anything published in your personal Substack or social media is fine.
