Puck Zine: Murmur
PUCK Press is looking for submissions for its new quarterly zine of poetry, short fiction, photography and visual art.
The theme for this issue is "Murmur".
This can mean many things: whispers, secrets, a low hum, an indistinct shape, a flock of starlings, or the slow ebb of the tide...
In general, PUCK is focused on nature, folklore and magic. Submissions don't have to fit this broader theme, but they are more likely to be successful if they are lean in that direction.
The deadline for submissions is the 6th March 2026, with the zine (hopefully) published on the 20th.
If you'd like to submit something to be considered for publication in PUCK Press, please fill out the form below.
- We accept submissions of poetry, short stories, visual art and photography.
- Although we are open to any and all submissions, submissions will be helped by incorporating our loose theme of nature, folklore and magic.
- Poetry and short stories should be in PDF format, with a maximum file size of 8 MB.
- Poems should be no more than 40 lines, and short stories no more than 2500 words.
- For visual art and photography submissions, please upload a PNG or JPEG file, with a maximum size of 8 MB.
- As we review submissions blind, please ensure there is no identifying information in your files.
- Please submit the name you wish to be credited under.
- PUCK is an inclusive space. We accept any and all submissions, but particularly encourage people from underrepresented backgrounds to consider submitting. We want to hear from you!
- We accept multiple submissions from the same person, but the form will have to be filled out seperately for each submission.
- We accept uncurated submissions. That is work that has not been published (curated) by any other magazine, publication, competition, business, i.e anyone other than yourself. This means, for example, that you can submit things that have been posted on your personal blog or social media.
- We accept simultaneous submissions, but please let us know if your work is accepted elsewhere.
- We will not accept any work created with AI tools.
- There is no submission fee.
- We are unfortunately unable to pay individual contributors. However, we are planning to hold competitions with cash prizes in the future.
- Any and all copyright of each submission remains with the submitter (you!). PUCK has unrestricted rights to publish the submission as part of the PUCK Press zines, or on the PUCK website. We will always credit you when we reproduce your work.
P.SAll submissions will be reviewed, but please be considerate with the amount of work you submit. One thoughful and curated submission is more likely to be accepted than 100 random submissions!
