HNDL Mag is a US-based online journal dedicated to literature and art. It specifically publishes creatives with neurodivergence, disability, mental and/or chronic illnesses.

Submissions are now open for:

PRIDE

This submission form will be open for quite some time. From January-end of March. Because of this long submission window, please do not check in/ask/inquire about whether your piece was accepted or not or when the issue is going to be published. This is stressful for editors and simply unnecessary, as all submissions will be reviewed after the submission window closes. Please DO NOT submit if you are not okay with longer timelines in general (from submissions to editing to publication, etc). We lose a lot of time to disability and chronic illness and it is really crushing when this is not understood, as it is already a huge struggle to live with. To those who are compassionate, you are dearly appreciated.

Though we respect and enjoy these genres, we are not seeking erotica, historical fiction, fan fiction, or academic essays for this particular issue. Thanks!

We want to show the world what PRIDE means to the neurodivergent, disabled, and chronically ill community!

Please give us the unexpected, the highly personal, the transformative, the unique! We select pieces that make us feel the artist/writer as an individual!

🌈Poetry [No center-alignment, please. This is for our layout plans. Thanks!]

[SUBMISSION RESTRICTIONS]

No nudity, graphic sexual content, abusive language even if quoting someone to depict an experience. We booth at local events with restrictions.

🌈Up to 1.2k for prose & creative nonfic (No exceptions, no breaking up between issues, and we are not looking for book excerpts) No center-aligned poetry.

🌈For visual art --- [No pre-determined graphic design choices like font, font color, poetry within a graphic design, except for analog collage and comics. A "fading" effect in text is okay. No images paired with poetry. This is for design cohesion reasons for the issue]
