Neuk Presents: Made in Glasgow - Performers Call-Out
As part of the Commonwealth Games Glasgow 2026 Festival, celebrating culture across the city, Neuk Collective is presenting a pop-up market and performance showcase at The Glad Cafe on July 25th.
About Neuk
Neuk Collective is a community for neurodivergent creatives across Scotland, platforming, connecting, and celebrating neurodivergent creativity. We create cultural activity for artists and audiences often excluded from mainstream cultural life, and as part of the performance programme for this exciting event.
What We're Looking For
We are looking to programme professional spoken word artists, musicians and cabaret, drag, variety and live art performers from within the Neuk membership with finished work that is ready to share with an audience. Pieces can be 10-15 minutes in length. You must be based in Glasgow.
The programme will be split into two shows, an afternoon show 4pm-6pm (tech 3pm) and an evening show 8pm-10m (tech 7pm).
Afternoon Performance: we are looking to programme the first show with artists whose work would be suitable for a more family-friendly audience and accessible to our members. This means we're looking to programme performance for a seated audience, with slightly raised house lights, moderated sound levels, shorter sections, and an audience environment where people can move.
Evening Performance: the later show will have a more late-night cabaret vibe - dimmer lighting, louder sound, higher energy.
Please identify in the form which show you feel would best suit the work you would like to showcase
Fee
This is a paid opportunity.
Music - £190 for performance lasting no more than 3 hours (Scottish Musicians Union rates)
Spoken Word - £120 pp (fair work standard)

Technical Specifications
The Glad Cafe's tech specs are available here. Please do have a look and make sure your work is suitable to the venue's limitations. You don't have to have a full lighting or sound plan for your performance - we can help with this if we select your piece for our programme.

The venue is accessible. Performances will be BSL interpreted. There is a wheelchair ramp at the venue that can be used to access the stage. For more information about the venue's accessibility, please see the access page on their website here.
